People with diabetes not only have to manage their condition through medication but also need to be aware of foot health. This is because of decreased sensation and circulation to the lower limbs. If you’re living with diabetes and need help in keeping your feet as healthy as possible, come to one of our clinics in Bunbury and Australind.
Are you a runner? Do you play sport? Do you suffer from lower limb injuries or pain? Lower limb injuries are often a result of repetitive strain and poor biomechanics (movement). Gait Analysis can capture and assess the biomechanics of the foot, ankle, knee, hip, and pelvis to determine any misalignment or dysfunction. This greatly assists in diagnosis and treatment. We analyse your gait pattern. Comparisons can be made between barefoot, with running shoes and shoes with orthotic devices to help find the best solution to suit you. Getting special orthotic inserts in your shoes can be a highly-effective, non-invasive way to treat foot and ankle pain. Flow on effects even help with improving knee, hip, and back pain. Using 3D scanning technology we provide orthotic solutions for people of all ages and sizes all around the region including Australind, Bunbury, Bridgetown, Dunsborough, Harvey, Margaret River, and Augusta.

Ingrown toenails are a common complaint that can affect people of any age group, but is most common in adolescents. An ingrown toenail is when your toenail curls or pushes into the skin fold, causing pain, redness and inflammation. If left untreated, an ingrown toenail can lead to secondary infection (often bacterial). To make an ingrown toenail booking, click here.
Injection therapies are often required to treat foot and ankle problems. They may be used to help make a diagnosis but are also used in therapy. Cortisone or steroid injections especially are used to settle down resistant inflammation. When used properly and expertly, these pose very little if any risk, something we will discuss with you at the time of your appointment. To make an injection therapy booking, head here.
Southwest Foot & Ankle Centre provide paediatric podiatry services. Children’s feet differ from those of adults as they are not yet fully formed. At six months of age, the foot is still mostly cartilage, in fact, the last bone doesn’t begin to form until children are about three years old. By the time they reach eighteen years, most of the bones are fully formed. To make a booking with a paediatric podiatrist, book here.
